RESCHEDULED FOR 2024
RESCHEDULED FOR 2024
It is with great dismay that we have been forced to postpone this year's Upton Ultra event on 8th July. The event relies heavily on the Upton Triathlon infrastructure and staffing for us to be able to deliver a safe and truly great experience and since the Upton Triathlon has now been cancelled we have no choice but to postpone our event until 2024.
We will be back in 2024!
Our ambition of hosting a ‘weekender’ of events (Upton Triathlon, Upton Ultra and Mad Malvern Hare) is still strong and we are working towards ensuring this will happen in the coming years. However, no matter what happens with the Triathlon, we will be planning infrastructure and staffing so that the Ultra can go ahead on the Saturday no matter what happens with the Triathlon, so, rest assured Upton Ultra will be back in 2024!
All entries will automatically be deferred to the 2024 event, benefitting from the inevitable price rise that we fought off this year, saving you £15 on next year's entry fee! However, if you would prefer a refund (minus the booking fee) please email us at ride@madhare.cc
P.S. Our Mad Malvern Hare will continue to happen as planned on Sunday 9th July, if you would like to swap your Ultra entry for a ride entry (100km or 100mile) please email us at ride@madhare.cc
The Route
We will start and finish at Fish Meadow Farm, just over the bridge from the historic riverside town of Upton-On-Severn, Worcestershire, WR8 0PB.
Travelling north out of Fish Meadow and along the River Severn, the route then cuts southwest to the Victorian Spa Town of Great Malvern and then ascends onto the scenic Malvern Hills and along the ridge line.
You’ll be treated to spectacular views of the surrounding area and reach the highest point of the trail at 425m at the Worcestershire Beacon. If you can join us for 100 miles in the saddle, you can definitely do 60km on foot around our amazing route for the Upton Ultra!
With a mix of established national trails, bridal ways, footpaths, river banks and connecting tarmac roads, each stage of the route will bring you through different terrain and scenery. From open hills, grassy meadows, sprawling commons, wooded paths and expanses of the floodplain - the Upton Ultra has it all!
Each leg will be clearly marked and there are three checkpoints at 15km, 30km and 42km which will have a variety of food and drinks.
OPEN TO ALL LEVELS - NO CUT OFF TIMES
The event is open to people of all levels from first-timers to pros, and there will be NO cut-off times to ensure everyone who takes part has a chance to complete the route by running or walking.
We look forward to welcoming you to our back to our ultra running event!
Please remember we NEVER allow resale tickets from one person to another, for insurance/safety reasons. Transfers are available through your Stu Web account. Anyone commenting on social media about selling tickets is scamming so please be aware.
