We are very proud to announce a partnership with Gorilla Coffee Cafe (Birmingham), who will be delivering a wide range of content/support at both the Mad March and Mad Summer Hare in 2020 and beyond. But more than that, Gorilla Cafe will also be our 'year-round' Mad Hare CC home, a permanent base in the heart of the cycling community.
All the clubs who enter the Mad Hare events en masse are important to us and a huge reason the events are so successful. In fact, over 60% of participants are affiliated with a club! It's amazing that so many of us are enjoying the social benefits of cycling together and instilling our ethos of 'community'.
But, what got me thinking was: 'what about the 40% of entrants who aren't affiliated with a club?'
By default, EVERYONE here is a Mad Hare, we are ALL part of the Mad Hare Cycling Club. A virtual (and twice a year 'real-world club') where everyone shares their passion of cycling and takes on the challenge of our events together. But now, thanks to a partnership with Birmingham's best cycling cafe, the Mad Hare Cycling Club has a permanent home!
James Connolly of GCCC says "Becoming 'Home Club' is something that we are immensely proud of. Our partnership aims to maintain the community feeling of the Mad Hare events throughout the year by creating a fun and family focused "club house" that welcomes entrants every day of the year. Our cycling club provides a really welcoming, fun and social way for riders to progress their cycling and help get in the best shape to perform their best on the Mad Hare events."
We will be announcing more details about the partnership in due course, in the meantime, make sure you head to the Gorilla Coffee Cafe and Cycling Club at the links below to join up!"
